Today, it snowed. It snowed enough to cover the ground in white powder, but of course, Mitch and Lexi were having a hay-day.

Lexi's 3!
Wednesday, Lexi turned 3! She's getting big so fast. She had a great birthday. It almost felt like Christmas with all the presents she got. For example: a laptop, a movie, some clothes, a sleeping bag, a Fur-Real duck, a movie, $20, and a whiteboard to practive writing on. Wednesday she took some cupcakes to share with her babysitter and that night had some family and friends over for cake and ice cream. She got a "tig-a-pooh" (tigger and winnie the pooh) ice cream cake. Then Thursday, Mom took her to Evan's Beauty College to get her bangs cut and hair styled. Of course, we also had to go to McDonald's, too. Here's just a couple pictures of the festivity...

Hollywood Cowgirl
Lexi loves to dress up. This time with her new sunglasses, princess cow girl boots, and minnie mouse hat, she's workin' it!
August
Well August was a very busy month. We had the pig fair, in which the kids did very well!, school starting, Alyssa's Birthday, and so much more! To start the month off, the Fremont County Fair. We raised the pigs up from almost babies to over 250 lbs. pigs!! Each day, the kids have to do something different with the pigs in front of a judge. The first day the kids had to show both themselves and the pig off. Alyssa and Mitch, since it was their first year, got put in a whole different section of judging. It was quite funny though because was Alyssa not only in with a handful of 9-10 yr. olds, but almost the entire group was made up of kids from Chester! They got along quite well. :) Alyssa also got Grand Champion out of the 1st year group. She didn't know whether to be happy or feel like a cheater since she was the oldest one there by far. She's quite happy of what she got now. The last day was the auction. Mitch and Alyssa were dreading this day. They didn't want to see their pigs go. :'( But, once they saw the amount of money they got, everything changed! Mitch got $812 and Alyssa got $887 off a stinkin' pig! Come on!! Can you guess what they're doing next year? Alyssa's ready for it already. They both had a blast.

Alyssa and "Queen Latifah"Alyssa also had her 14th birthday! She's getting old. She didn't really do anything special but drive home from Utah. The day before her birthday was the party. Basically everyone from the Williams' side was over. Tammy was even up! Candace and her family were not though. She missed ya. In addition to turning 14, Alyssa completed her Personal Progress for Young Womens. Most girls put it off and get it when or after they graduate. Some don't get it at all. But, she did all 8 values in 2 years! She was dedicated. Her leaders were all surprised and proud.

Then, everyone's lazy days were over. School started. Alyssa started 9th grade. She is now a freshman in high school! Alyssa was SCARED-TO-DEATH! She absolutely did not want to go. But, she's starting to feel comfortable now. Mitch started 5th grade. He's liking it. His teacher was the same one Alyssa had. Hopefully she's setting a good reputation for her brother down the road. Lexi is still going to the babysitter. She really likes her. Lexi could not wait to see her little boy, Jackson who is her age, and play. Mom is still working for the Kindergarten as an aid. She really enjoys it and has fun. (We'll get school pictures posted when we get them back from the school).
Well, that's August in a nut shell.
September
Not as many things happened in September as in August but it was still packed full of fun. To start things off, Lexi gave herself her first haircut. Mom wasn't too happy with that. She cut it right to the scalp next to her ear. It's a miracle she didn't get her head. Sorry I didn't get any pictures. We were too busy crying! :) But, we have managed to deal with it. She loves to show her fabulous fixed hair off. We believe she's going to be model material when she grows up. ;) Mitch also started Grid Kid Football. Their team did pretty well. Mitch doesn't think so, but hey, he can't see himself! Sorry, I don't have any pictures of football either.... I didn't know they had pictures so, I didn't buy any. :( Oh well. We also had Landon's Birthday, Grandma Williams birthday, and Trey's Birthday. It got cold on the very last day in September, September 30. It SNOWED in some places!!!! How crazy is that? Alyssa is ready for the snow, but absolutely no one else is.

Hot Rod on the Loose
Lexi has been trying to ride a trike for a while now. We have a trike that Mitch used to ride but she can't quite reach the peddles. Lexi found a trike that she liked at Wal-Mart, and we just had to get it. Lexi loves it! She just goes outside and rides it on the pad. If we don't know where she is, go look on the pad. She's sure to be there with her bike. 
Martin's Cove
Last week, I (Alyssa), went to Martin's Cove with the Ashton Stake. It was a lot of fun! It was hard, but not as hard as everyone makes it sound like. Martin's Cove was where the Martin and Willy handcart companies tried to cover from the winter storms but still had so many deaths. Since our ward wanted to make it an actual pioneer experience, they make us skirts and bonnents. The bonnents came in handy during the wind storms. We left the Ashton stake center about 6:45 am on Wednesday and didn't get to Martin's Cove 'till about 3 or 3:30 p.m on Wednesday. About a 9 hour drive on a bus filled with people I don't even know! Did I sleep? NO! When we got to Martin's Cove, they spoke a little to us about the history of it. Before President Hinkley died, he took all his family and they did the trek. President Hinkley told them that it is one of the last sacred and hallow places left on Earth (That means that Christ has actually walked on the Earth at Martin's Cove. How cool is that?!). After the little devotional, we split up into familes, grabbed our handcarts, and hiked 3 miles into our camp. My ma and pa were Kathryn and her husband Grube. While we hiked into camp, we reenacted the Mormon Battalion. This is where the men and boys went off to war and left the women to pull the handcarts by themselves. Us women had to climb the rockiest, sandiest, steepest hill there with our handcarts. Once we reached the top, the men supposedly said they wanted to help us. I'm so sure! Then we continued to camp. I only saw a snake once sitting on a rock, but that was fine with me. The next day, we hiked up into the actual Martin's Cove. It's sad to think that so many people died there. Then we walked around where they tried to bury their dead. Wolves just took over from there. After that, we got to cross the Sweetwater River. This is where the 4 young men helped the pioneers across the 3'' ice coverd river in the freezing weather. The water was a little cold but it felt good since we were all so hot! Then we took our handcarts back to the visitor's center and we had the opportunity to go to Devil's Gate, but, I didn't go. While we stayed at camp, there was this white, pyrenees dog named Oscar. He is a dog that walks with kids on the trek, then leaves at the end of the summer when all the workers and everybody goes home. He lives about 10 miles from Martin's Cove. One morning when we were ready to say the prayer, Oscar went to the front, laid down, and crossed his paws! It was so weird! Then that night, we had Testimony Meeting. After soemone would bear their testimony, he would bark like he was saying "amen". He was a funny dog. The next day, Friday, we came home. But first, we took a detour to Independence Rock. This is where the pioneers were told that if they made it to this rock by July 4th, they would have good weather the rest of the way to Salt Lake. Since the Martin and Willy company didn't make it 'till November, they had some troubled weather. We had the chance to climb up the rock and look at the names in the rocks. I wasn't going to go at first but I figured that if I could pull a handcart in a skirt, I could hike up a pile of rocks in a skirt! I got to the top and realized that since I went up, I HAD to come down. I really don't like heights.... At the top there weren't a lot of names from the 1800's but there were a lot of names from the 1900's. After Independence Rock, we came home. We were all so excited to come home and use a working, flushing toilet that had no signs to keep the doors shut so no snakes would come in!!!!!

Bear World
Awhile ago when Candace and Beau were up, we decided to take the kids to Bear World just outside of Rexburg. We went at the perfect time; in between rain showers. It was quite nice, no rain and just a slight breeze. All the animals (except the bears) were out wandering around enjoying the weather. Also right behind us, was the food bus. The bears woke up for that. :) After we drove around looking at the animals, we went into the petting zoo. The kids loved it. Alyssa and Lexi really enjoyed the goats. There was one baby goat that was a character! He put on quite a show. He jumped all over Lexi, tried to eat Alyssa's jacket, and tried to balance on his mom's back. Alyssa also really liked the big pig. No surprise there! After the petting zoo, the kids wanted to go on the rides. Alyssa gladly volunteered to go with Lexi. She's so immature! :) They only had a few rides going due to the weather. After they had done all the rides, we went in and walked around for a while. Then we went home. It was fun, thanks Grandma and Grandpa Williams for taking us!
